Note: being Yvan is suffering. Specialmente quando Gramps è coinvolto.

Yvan should probably have known better than that. He should have listened to Leon, who knows Krow better than anyone, and kept an eye on him as they left the first gate at the airport.

You would have thought that an almost two meters tall man with white hair, dark skin and freaking red-purple eyes, dressed almost like a gentleman from the Victorian Era, would have been easy to spot over the sea of black and brown heads.

Apparently not. Krow has an odd, absurdly efficient ability to attract attention to himself as much as he’s slippery like a snake when he doesn’t want to be found.

Truth to be told, it would have been really an easy task to spot him, if only said tall man wasn’t acting like an overly excited child, high on the idea of being in Japan, who apparently vanished into thin air despite Yvan trying to follow him through the crowd. Running after him is a bother and downright impossible, he found out. Yvan could imagine him currenly jumping around the place, looking up and down and taking photos of this and that.

At least, he’s sure that they’re both still in the airport (he still had both their bags and he knows Krow will never leave without his “faithful traveling kit”), but Yvan wants to bang his head against the closest wall. Or table. Even the glass windows look oddly interesting for him.

...

Still.

Should he ask to make an announcement? Like the ones you make at the supermarket when you lose your child, or the child loses their parents around the aisles?

Ironically, the concept that Yvan has always thought to be absurd (because, honestly, how the hell do you lose a child? Are you an idiot or just irresponsible?) now is the same kind of predicament he finds himself in.

That's karma. He’s sure about this, because the damned thing has been having its fun with him since forever.

«... I'm going to strangle him as soon as I find him.» he murmurs to himself in his mother tongue (and that’s something he usually does when he’s either embarrassed of ticked off), all while he marches over the central Assistance Office.

In the end, Yvan makes the announcement and something like ten minutes later, Krow returns happily by his side accompanied by a shop clerk, with a newly bought pack of coffee and tea brands. The woman is smiling both shyly and tiredly at the man, as he thanks her profusely for her assistance--both for shopping and bringing him back to where he belonged.

The redhead doesn’t resist to the temptation to slap him on the arm as soon as they’re alone. Or, as alone as they can be in an airport, but still.

«Why did you just run off?!» Yvan basically snaps at the older male, looking at him with a severe expression while the other massages his arm with a childish pout on his lips. That changes quickly once Krow remembers gleefully why he actually “went on a mission” this time.

«Because you can't be an impolite guest and show up without a gift! Look!»

With that, Yvan basically has to avoid a large bag full of contents he dares not to ask about. Not that he has to, since Krow seems to have taken it as his personal mission, to show him everything he bought for his grandchildren in the Miyuki-gumi.

(on a side note, the older man highly hopes they’ll enjoy his gifts, because they really really reeeally deserve them)

The redhead spends a few more moments to look at his companion, before sighing a bit. It seems he can’t stay mad at Krow for long, not when he’s so excited to see their friends in Japan that his usual already big smile seems to widen more and more, as he speaks.

«Do you think the kids will enjoy these? Oh, I really hope so! The woman clerk said they’re a “sure hit”!»

That’s when Yvan gives up and picks up Krows and his own bags and secures them on his shoulders. «And what would that mean?» he asks, starting to move towards the closest exit.

«I don’t know, but she sounded so convinced!»

The redhead really wants to facepalm with a muffled groan, but he resists the urge. And while the older man keeps talking his right ear off, he honestly keeps asking himself how in the bloody hell Leon survived twenty five years of Krow.
