The first time Ubuyashiki Kagaya had seen Gojoh Yuriho, he was met with frighteningly clear eyes that seemingly gazed into his soul.
She was someone that, similarly to him, grew up in a noble clan, as the lady of the house. Yet, there she stood covered in bandages that reminded him of his late father and with a glower in the eyes that made his own skin feel like burning.
The glower wasn't directed at him, but the sheer intensity of it was something else.
Alongside her, the Flame Pillar, Rengoku Shinjuro, explained that her family had been attacked by a demon, the one he was tasked with slaining. After the whole situation had been solved, the young girl had pleaded with him to teach her the art of the sword.
Ubuyashiki was unsure about why his Flame Pillar had deemed it appropriate to introduce her to him first at the Pillar Meeting, before going for the formal training. He supposed the man had wanted to make sure it was okay to recruit a noblewoman in their ranks, and to do so without potential repercussions.
The young master gave his blessing, grateful for that sincere concern.
