Sometimes meeting Inuyasha's group was rather... tiring. They were good people, admtitedly; even funny if you look at the hanyou's interactions with the priestess, and the six of them proved to be good friends and trustworthy allies.

Just... well. Yue wasn't sure why, at times felt like they thought they were the only ones able to beat the shit out of their common enemy, as much as being the only ones that could handle the Jewel and prevent it to become "pure evil". Which brought them exactly in this kind of situation, one Yue would be better without.

"No."

The surprise was pretty clear on their faces after that. If they thought Miko was a little, frail girl they were going to be disappointed.

Who would ever accept to give out the fragments of the Jewel with no fuss? Idiots, all of them.

"No? What do you mean 'no'?" the hanyou asked, sounding rather confused. Yue just had to snort at the reaction, earning a stare that should probably have been meancing. Clearly, it didn't work on the kitsune.

"No means no, clearly!" Shayo piped up, hands on his sides and a jovial  smile on his face.

Seriously, his mates were quite something. Smiling cutely, sometimes idiotic (one of them, at least, more than the other), but pretty much endearing. And deadly, but that's not something he's going to boast to others: let them in for a surprise.

The purple-clad monk spoke first, anticipating whatever the hannyou was going to say. "Um, not to be rude to you, but we're collecting the shards to purify the Jewel. There are many other demons who could attack you to steal them, so--"

"Are you implying we couldn't protect ourselves?" Yue asked right then, a little more irritated than he meant. "Speaking of which, I heard about your party. Aren't you already in possession of many shards?"

Silence fell for a few, meaningful seconds between the two group. The fair-haired miko was the one breaking it.

"Oh, that's why! I couldn't sense fragments on them, probably someone robbed them... I'm so sorry for that."

Somehow, Yue was sure that she wasn't very "sorry" for that. But he kept the thought for himself. Miko was a lot more vicious than what others could ever expect, even if the little things - hints - she gave from time to time were quite clear.

... seriously, what's with his teammates being silent danger?

"Sooo, is there anything else we can help you with? Chatting is nice, but, you know, collecting more shards of the Jewel is pretty important..."

Apparently, the half youkai didn't like the implications in Shayo's tone, as if they were wasting time in trying to convince them to hand over their shards.

(which, in fact, it was true. Yue would die twice before he'd let others harm his pack, moreso for some stupid Jewel. But well, they were on a mission, kind of, so he'd support both Miko and Shayo for that.)

The old, shining blade on Inuyasha's side was unsheathed and Yue felt his eyes twitch.

"Don't you dare, hanyou. Your pack has no claims on what we have conquered." he downright growled, his aloof smile nowhere to be seen. "Off you go now, or off with your heads."

Shayo sighed, in a way honestly the older demon didn't understand (but then again, the water demon always had his oddities), while Miko simply giggled and patted his shoulder.

"You heard him! We're not going to give you our shards, so don't ask again. I hope you have a nice travel, though!"

It felt nice to be all on the same page for that matter.
