There had always been a strange itch under Emma's skin, since... well, forever. It wasn't a painul thing, really, just terribly annoying, given that no matter what she did, it wouldn't go away. And the problem was that the cause was something she couldn't control, nor turn on and off as she wished.

She never found it too unbearable, but sometimes wondered: what if she just let it go, sometimes? Would it ease that infuriating sensation?

"He's dead."

Emma probably hadn't heard very well the first time, so she asked again. "Where is he?"

Her interlocutor looked at her with something akin to pity in his eyes, then steeled himself and repeated his previous words. She still didn't think she heard that part well.

A hand flew to her nape, scratching her skin in an empty gesture. It didn't ease her itch, but it was done out of reflex... so it somehow helped a little.

"Okay. How?" she asked then, voice carefully leveled as she spoke.

After the official explained it, she felt equally nauseous and aggravated. Still, she thanked him for the valuable information and exited the law court on her own, stopping only steps shy from the entrance. 

Her most important person, gone like that, because someone else defined him as a "sinner" in the face of justice - and apparently, others thought in the same way. A hand rose from her pockets, her fingers ready to snap.

"Well then, let's eradicate all sinners." 

She let go.

Suddenly, a blazing inferno exploded in the building behind her. Pained screams, terrified and hurt, began echoing in the street and adjacent buildings.

Turning back, green eyes were met with a kind of destruction she found... appealing. 

The itch finally began to subside.
